Ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT): This feature is particularly beneficial on cloudy days when light intensity fluctuates. An ultra-fast MPPT controller can enhance energy collection by up to 30% compared to PWM charge controllers and by up to 10% compared to slower MPPT controllers.
Advanced Maximum Power Point Detection under partial shading: In such conditions, multiple maximum power points (MPP) may exist on the voltage curve. Traditional MPPTs often settle on a local MPP, which may not be the best option. The SmartSolar algorithm ensures maximum energy harvest by identifying and locking onto the optimal MPP.

Internal temperature sensor and optional external battery voltage, temperature, and current sensing via Bluetooth: Devices like a Smart Battery Sense, BMV-712 Smart Battery Monitor, or SmartShunt can communicate battery voltage and temperature (and current, for BMV 712 or SmartShunt) to one or more SmartSolar Charge Controllers.
VE.Direct or VE.Can: Provides wired data connectivity to a Color Control GX, other GX products, PC, or other devices.
Function for recovering fully discharged batteries: The charger will start charging even if the battery is completely discharged to zero volts. It will also reconnect to a fully discharged Li-ion battery with an integrated disconnect function.
VE.Can: the solution for multiple controllers: Up to 25 units can be synchronized using VE.Can, and up to 10 units using Bluetooth.
Remote on-off capability: This can be connected, for instance, to a VE.BUS BMS.
Programmable relay: Can be set to activate on an alarm or other events.
