The AMT12-2, known by various names, maintains vehicle starter batteries during inactivity by drawing from leisure batteries. It prioritizes charging leisure batteries when connected to a charging source, ensuring minimal impact on battery capacity.
Please Note that this item is on Back order and will not be available until MarchThe AMT12-2, also known as the Trickle Charger, Battery Maintainer, Battery Saver, Reverse Charger, Top Up Charger, or Battery Equalizer, serves a crucial purpose: to keep a vehicle’s starter battery charged and protected from damage during extended periods of inactivity or storage. It achieves this by drawing a small current from the leisure battery. Ideally, the leisure battery should be connected to a solar regulator or mains charger, but even if not, the unit will continue to function as long as the voltage settings are maintained.
The AMT12-2 has a low current draw of less than 2mA on a 12V system, making it a minimal discharge load to the leisure battery. With a 1Ah drain every 20 days, the unit has a negligible impact on the battery’s capacity and should easily cover the winter storage period. When a charging source, such as a mains charger or solar charger, is connected to the auxiliary or leisure battery, the AMT12-2 Trickle Charger ensures that the leisure battery is charged first, prioritizing its well-being.
The AMT12-2 is compatible with various types of lead-acid and lithium batteries. The Status LED provides valuable feedback on the Trickle Charger’s operation, the state of charge of the vehicle battery, and the conditions of the auxiliary battery.
